‘Salem's Lot’: New Adaptation Coming Fall 2022

‘Salem's Lot’: New Adaptation Coming Fall 2022 | ConstantReaders

Gary Dauberman, writer of the It and It Chapter Two adaptations, will soon be responsible for yet another Stephen King adaptation when he directs the vampire thriller Salem’s Lot. Based on the 1975 novel of the same name, the upcoming horror movie is about Ben Mears, a writer who spent part of his childhood in Jerusalem's Lot, Maine, also known as Salem's Lot.

Ben has returned after 25 years to write a book about the long-abandoned Marsten House, where he had a bad experience as a child. He soon discovers that an ancient evil has also come to town and it’s turning the residents into vampires. He vows to stop the plague of undead and save the town.

In August 2021, it was announced that Lewis Pullman (Bad Times at the El Royale, Top Gun: Maverick) has come aboard to play Ben Mears, the story's central protagonist. Father Callahan will be played by John Benjamin Hickey.

Salem's Lot was Stephen King's second published book and has had a few adaptations done in the past with great success. It is estimated that Salem's Lot is King's third best-selling book of all time, behind The Shining and Carrie. Based on Amazon Best Seller Rankings, Salem's Lot has sold approximately 300,000 copies!
